Short History
In November of 2006, the Union Cab Board of Directors sent a delegation to the US Conference on Democratic Workplaces. After that meeting, the board of Union Cab directed its Education Committee to pursue cooperation among cooperatives. About this same time, other individuals in teh cooperative community (notably at Summit Housing Cooperative) were seeking the same purpose. In May, the groups came together to discuss building a local network of cooperatives. In June of 2007, the MCN held its first social event. Since then, the events became more popular and an organizational meeting was called for May 18, 2008 to formalize the organization and create a decision making body.
