After a year of social gatherings, the loose association of Madison cooperatives will begin meeting to discuss a formal organization. The Meeting will be held on May 18, 2008 at noon. The tentative gathering place is the Summit Housing Cooperative. Food will be catered by Kemble Katering.
The UW Center for Cooperatives hosts a statewide conference on coops. The full-day conference will be held at the Marriott-Madison West conference Center in Middleton, WI
The US Federation of Worker Cooperatives will have their bi-annual meeting on the Tulane Campus in New Orleans from June 20-22. For more information, visit the Federation Website.
The first Saturday of July in 2008 will mark the first annual Madison International Cooperative Day. The festivities will begin at Warner Park Shelter at around noon and continue until 10 p.m. A DJ will spin music from 4-8. Planning in underway.
